Time Is Ticking Away… ⏳

You know that song “Time is ticking away”?
I’ll leave it here — press play while you read the nonsense I wrote this time 😂🎶

Lately, there’s been a lot of talk — both in academic circles and on social media — about the Earth’s axis shifting slightly. Apparently, this affects the length of our days, making time a tiny bit shorter. Just a few milliseconds.

Sounds insignificant, right?
But let’s do a quick calculation.

If we lost just one second per day, multiplied by 365 days…
that’s 6 minutes and 5 seconds in a year.
Wow. That’s actually a lot. About how long it takes to read this post 😂
Now you’ve already lost 12 minutes 😅

But this kind of loss is nothing compared to others.
Much more serious ones.

According to studies, on average, we waste around 1 hour and 48 minutes every single day on social media.
And what’s even more worrying is that research shows teenagers can spend up to 6 hours a day scrolling.

Six hours.
Not living. Not creating. Just consuming.

Every day, we pick up our phones. Or tablets. Or open our laptops.
We tell ourselves: “Just a 5-minute break.”
And those 5 minutes quietly turn into 30. Or more.

And most of the time, it’s not even a conscious choice.

At first, we’re in control. We navigate. We choose.
One minute. Maybe two.
Then it becomes a reflex. Scroll. Scroll. Scroll.
And somewhere along the way… we forget about ourselves. Here i’ll let you a link with a post about Procrastination Leads to Burnout (And How to Break the Cycle)

This leads to postponed tasks, mental clutter, and constant rushing.
We lose precious time with others.
Or worse — we slowly numb our minds.

So what can we do?

– Use social media consciously
– The moment you notice you’ve become passive and are scrolling randomly, close the app
– Instead of jumping from one platform to another, maybe… come visit my blog and read a post or two 😂
I promise — fewer distractions, more thoughts worth keeping
– Open a book and read a few pages — your neurons will thank you, here a 5 must read books in my opinion 5 Life-Changing Books That Helped Me Heal From Burnout, Anxiety, and Depression
– Create small pauses to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. For my to Look at the Sky  it’s a thing which helps to deconnect from stress, you can read here.

And maybe most importantly…

Spend quality time.
Be present.
Do the things you truly enjoy.
Share moments with the people close to you — without phones, without rush, without background noise.

Because in the end, time isn’t just something we lose or save.
⏳ It’s something we live.

And how we choose to live it…
that’s what truly makes the difference.
